Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) , Catalonia , 2012
How can we bring nanoscience and nanotechnology closer to citizens?
The exhibition, curated and coordinated by La Mandarina de Newton, takes a look at the basic concepts of nanoscience, the current applications of nanotechnology, and its possible applications in the future. It is based on the real experience of a leading research centre in the field, the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. It includes six thematic areas: what is nanoscience, manipulating atoms, nanoparticles, nanomaterials, technology and the future and nanotechnology and citizens. Its main objective is to promote knowledge about nanoscience and also to facilitate the understanding of related concepts. It also opens the debate about the potential risks and social impact of nanotechnology. It has been exhibited at the Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC) for several years, with a complementary proposal for informative workshops, TV appearances and workshops for secondary school teachers.Entregables:
Exhibition, workshops for professionals and for the general public, TV appearances.
