CCCB Debates

Centre for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB), Catalonia , 2019

How can we make a science writer’s talk more dynamic and bring concepts related to quantum physics to the general public?

Dynamization of several debate sessions for the Centre for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB).

For Women’s Day, the science writer and journalist Dava Sobel talked about the protagonists of her book The Glass Universe (Penguin Books, 2017) and reflected on the role of women in the science world. Irene Lapuente from La Mandarina de Newton moderated the talk.

Once again, Irene Lapuente was responsible for moderating the ICREA-CCCB debates linked to the exhibition Quàntica, held at the CCCB. The debates addressed questions such as ‘What do we mean when we talk about quantum physics?’ ‘Is a quantum future the next technological revolution?’ These questions were answered by leading ICREA researchers including David Mateos, Maciej Lewenstein, Antonio Acín, Aurelio Juste and Clivia Sotomayor.
